Botox will diminish deep wrinkles on the upper face. This is widely known, even among those who have not yet had their first experience of Botox treatment. Forehead lines, frown lines and crows feet are the classic signs of ageing helped by this treatment. However, Botox has more applications than this.
For instance, there’s a trend in the USA at the moment to have a ‘Blotox.’ This involves Botox anti-wrinkle injections being applied to the scalp, not to prevent muscle contractions and prevent wrinkles from forming, but rather to reduce the amount of sweat you produce. With your Blotox in place, you can work out in the gym for as long as you like, safe in the knowledge that your blowdry will stay in place.
Injected into the right place, Botox can inhibit sweat production. The 3% of the population who naturally suffer from Hyperhidrosis; a condition that causes you to sweat excessively, even if you’re not overweight, or buried in too many layers of clothing, benefit from Botox treatment. Botox keeps this embarrassing problem under control.
Other uses of Botox include pain relief for migraines and an aid to reduce the muscle spasms associated with certain medical conditions. Some practitioners combine Botox and fillers to provide a non-invasive lifting effect and if your eyebrows are drooping as you get older, Botox will help them maintain their elevated position.
Here at the James Willis Faces cosmetic practice near Torquay, we offer bespoke Botox treatment, because we believe that each individual face will benefit more from a personalised approach. You may find that Botox is the most suitable treatment for you to achieve a refreshed look, but if it could be best utilised in combination with fillers to give you optimal results, we will make that recommendation.
What does Botox treatment at our Torquay clinic involve?
Once you’ve had your consultation with us in Torquay, you’ll need to book your treatment appointment. At this point you’ll have discussed your requirements with our highly experienced practitioner, Dr Willis, and received his treatment recommendations. You’ll sit in our modern treatment room, while the Botox is injected into the targeted area. The whole procedure shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes at the most and you can opt to have a local anaesthetic, if you want one, although most of our clients don’t feel the need. It shouldn’t be painful, because we use only ultra-fine needles.
The Botox, once injected under the skin, will prevent the targeted muscle from contracting and causing the wrinkle that is frustrating you about your appearance to disappear. Side effects are very rare, but you may experience a little swelling, or bruising. You will be able to return to work straight after your appointment.
You’ll first notice the results of the treatment 2-3 days later. The full results be visible 10-12 days later. You should look less tired, less worried and also younger than your years. Are you ready to find out more about Botox treatment in Torquay? If so, please give us a call!
